Hello & welcome
Colleen Porter, LCMHC
(she/her/hers)
I'm a warm and down-to-earth clinician with roots in expressive arts therapy, mindfulness, and anxiety management. My goal is to help clients gain skills that allow them to navigate life's toughest challenges and cultivate self-compassion in the process. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders and OCD using primarily Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a dose of creativity. I firmly believe that we all have the ability to grow and work towards the best version of ourselves.
I earned my masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University in 2014. I have been in the clinical world ever since, with experience in group therapy, pediatric inpatient psychiatry, residential treatment, college mental health, and private practice. I have worked with clients of many different ages and diverse backgrounds. I’m an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and aim to be compassionate and accepting in my work.
I'm licensed to practice in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine. I hold professional memberships with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), New Hampshire Mental Health Counselors Association (NHMHCA), and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). I’m also a certified clinical supervisor for the state of New Hampshire.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outside, baking, and traveling (Norway is a recent favorite). I’m an animal lover, and have two cats who frequently make appearances over telehealth.
